A Japanese-inspired, self-contained studio located in the corner of a sloped garden block, has taken an old garage and turned it in to something special. The design focuses on natural light and connection to the garden, using translucent polycarbonate to bring in soft, even light throughout the day. Sliding screen doors create flexible spaces, while bamboo flooring, plywood linings, and charred timber cladding reflect a simple Japanese aesthetic. A green roof and landscaping completed inhouse helps the building blend within its garden setting.
