Transforming a thermally poor 1956 Monocrete House into an 8-star, all-electric home required innovative thinking and careful execution. Retaining the existing structure while achieving high thermal performance introduced significant technical challenges. Through passive solar design, advanced sustainable materials including wood-fibre insulation, and meticulous detailing between old and new elements, the project delivers a flexible, low-energy home that demonstrates how older housing stock can be successfully adapted for a more sustainable future.
