This was a home office and rectory for a small church — one of my earlier designs, created for a minister who was deeply passionate about the environment and building community. Over eight years of Saturdays, this conviction in hands-on building led to the creation of a simple yet thoughtful dwelling that ultimately set a new standard for Anglican rectories. A public wing is separated from the private home by a central courtyard, kitchen, and dining area. This project is where I developed trust, patience, and grit in the building process.
